Obama or McCain?

Ok, so now that McCain has announced that his vice-presidential running mate is a chick -- Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska -- the presidential elections get a little more interesting. Or do they?

Who are you (or would you, if you could) voting for President this November?

Based on the candidate's speeches I've seen while watching BBC news 24 at some stupid time in the morning because of occasional insomnia, I'd say Obama. But a lot can change between now and the election. I can't vote anyway so my opinion doesn't really matter. :P

But the important thing is, neither of them is called Bush (Controversial statement?).

Yeah, it does, considering her 17-yr-old daughter is 5 months pregnant. I think that might have an effect on the voting, but he might also get the vote that Clinton would have originally got because she's a woman.

I cant really say much though considering we seem to care more about US politics then our own. Over here, it was all focused on 'Obama v Clinton' and McCain seems to have slipped in through the back door for presendency. Now all they do is focus on Obama and the only thing we know about McCain is that he's pretty old (77?), and this was off a comedy gameshow!

Looks like gamers are smart -- judging by the poll results anyway.

Anyone watching the debate tonight? It's in less than two hours and you can see it online at CNN.com as well.

Who is the wise guy that voted for McCain? Do you really want Sarah Palin for president, as is likely to happen. Then again, maybe she is "insurance" that nothing happens to McCain for at LEAST 4 years.

The McCain/Obama debate last week was lame. I'm looking forward to the Palin/Biden debate Thursday night. That one should be a kick in the ass!

Biden was clearly the winner of the vice-presidential debate last Thursday. Palin did ok, but only when compared with the low expectations for her. If you measured their success by the same standard, Biden was the one who came across as confident and experienced. AND he answered the questions directly instead of dodging them as Palin did.

To think that if McCain were elected, Palin would be merely a heartbeat away from the presidency is SCARY -- especially when you consider that just two years ago, she was only the mayor of a po-dunk little city in Alaska (she's only been a governer for two years).

I was also surprised to learn that this is only the 7th vice-presidential debate in history!
