We had high hopes for a game penned by sci-fi novelist Orson Scott Card, which promised to bring an unmatched cinematic experience to the Xbox. Well, we can kiss those hopes goodbye. Not only does the story fail to go above and beyond the usual sci-fi action/adventure knockoff, but also the gameplay is so inexcusably marred with technical problems that Advent Rising isn’t really worth playing. So much for a trilogy ‘cause this one hasn’t even made it off the ground...
