Grand Theft Auto IV 'Everyone's a Rat' trailer
Moments ago Rockstar Games released the final trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV titled, "Good Lord, What Are You Doing?" (aka "Everyone's a Rat"). In typical Rockstar fashion the trailer teases audiences with free-roaming open-world gameplay where Liberty City itself is as much a character as the people who inhabit the mean streets. Set to hit stores on April 29 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, GTAIV is shaping up to be one of the finest games of this generation. Hopefully when the dust settles from the hype when it hits we'll be able to see if it actually is as good everyone expects it to be.

Ok, can I assume there's no room for a bad-ass chick in GTA? Because I wanna be true to myself. Yeah.
Seriously, I haven't played grand theft auto. Are all the player characters guyz, or can a girl get down and dirty, too?

GamerGrrl, when playing GTA IV in single-player mode, you play the role of Niko Bellic, an eastern european with a shady past. And yes, Niko is a dude.
But when you play in multiplayer mode, which supports up to 16 players, you can take one a number of female characters, including a female drug dealer. And really, in that mode, anything goes anyway, so you can be as bad ass as you want.

Look pretty sweet. I like that GTA IV has more of a storyline play, and I REALLY like the way the missions can overlap. Very realistic and more immersive (less linear). More like an interactive movie...
Hmmm... thinking.

Its games like this that make me want a PS3... although then I see the price of the thing and decide to stick with my trusty PS2. I'm sure I'll get hold of it eventually, when Sony start being more reasonable.
Just out of interest, did people prefer the one city in GTA 3 and vice city, or the wide open environment in San Andreas? Personally, I preferred messing around in the huge area San Andreas offered, but I've been told by a few people that i'm in the minority there. Anyone else?

I've got Grand Theft Auto IV sitting here on my desk, unopened. And it's killing me, but I'm not going to open it. It's a birthday gift for my son (don't read this, ok Joel?), and I won't see him until Sunday. Ugh!!!

It's currently got a metacritic score of 99. On that basis alone, I think you need to play it for a bit. Just to check it works, of course :P. I've heard theres been some issues with some copies that freeze up during the intro, so you have to make sure that doesn't happen. Its your duty.

Heheheh. Yeah. My "duty."
He comes over on Sunday, and I'm actually too busy to let myself get sucked into the game right now anyway, so I'll hold out until then...
