Rock Band DLC surges to 6 million downloads

This morning, while posting about the new Rock Band patch and the addition of an in-game Music Store, we were in an extreme excitement frenzy. So much so that we overlooked Harmonix's other news regarding Rock Band DLC and how uber popular it has been, distributing (to date) 6 million downloads. 6 million!

And if you recall, back in January MTV and Harmonix were trumpeting their horn when they announced sales of 2.5 million DLC downloads. Knowing that, in two months time gamers have purchased an additional 3.5 million tracks. Yeah, it's safe to say that the music industry has another revenue source.

The thing that sucks is that I have to pay, and pay, and pay again for the same fucking music. I pay to dowload it on my iPod. I pay if I want it as a ringtone. I pay again so I can play it with Guitar Hero or Rock Band. I'm sick of paying many times for the same thing.

One day, Rock band will reach the UK. Then I will be happy. I'm still hopeful.

I know what you're saying about having to pay for extras. It's expensive, but I guess they're betting that if you like the song enough, you'll pay again to play it on guitar hero/rock band. And unfortunately, they're usually right. In my case anyway :s
