Spong is reporting that the upcoming PSP Grand Theft Auto game will, indeed, be based on Grand Theft Auto III. This had been suspected, but if Spong is right, then we think we’re looking at the killer app we spoke of a few days ago. Sony will need one to stay competitive and, thankfully, they seem to know that. Yes, even big megacorps can miss the obvious stuff. It’s unclear if the game will be a direct port, or just a loose interpretation of the original. It’s also unclear if the violence will be toned down. While we’re excited about the game, we just get a real bad feeling about how the non-gaming world is going to handle this one. Of course, we can’t spend all of our time worrying about the politicians and outraged parents. We have carjackings to pull off, after all.
