Virtual gold turned Red Cross donation

Good ol’ Crazy Joe is at it again!* He’s set up a (legit!)
donation drive via Ultima Online to support South Asia in the wake of the tsunamis.* Basically, on all non-Asian
servers, there are vendors (listed below, here) that are selling
junk for “crazy-high” prices (i.e. players buying the junk are really just making a donation), or there are
areas where you can just drop gold into “locked” piles.


It takes a lot of virtual gold (sold on eBay) to produce real world money (see status), but as word spreads, Joe’s relief fund will
certainly make a difference.* So if you’re an Ultima Online player, don’t forget to stop by and drop some
gold.
