There's been a lot of discussion about racing games recently on the forum and I was wondering, according to GG members, what is the best series of racing games ever?

I've always enjoyed Sega Rally, even though its an older game series. Nothing beats it in Arcade Racing. Its a pity its nowhere near as good on home consoles. :/

Red Devil's 17 (you could have tried his profile). I agree with his point though, sega rally is a great arcade racer. Its probably still the one of the best in the arcade.
While we're on the subject, how old are you sasimi?

I'm 14 at the moment, but I have played classic consoles like the Mega Drive and its extras and (because red devil keeps buying stuff for them), I still play it.
This has gone slightly off topic, so let's get back to it. The reason I said need for speed has done well with underground 1 (& 2 will do well). The editing made everyone's cars different and let people look different (Apperently there is 73 billion different combinations in NFS:Underground 2). You cant really do this in many other car games.

I hate the Crusin series. I've not played them much and don't intend to play them anymore. I can't remember which version i played but it was poor.
I agree with Sharpshooter. I enjoyed NFS underground because I could make my car completely unique to anyone else. Some parts of the game were annoying but the customisation was great.

Yeah, the Mega Drive is a classic. Still need the damn 32x add on though. :(
