Wow. This game is amazing. If you have played any Need for Speed games you'll absolutely love this game. The demo is awesome, if you can turn up the graphics all the way. It is such a beautiful game. Too bad the demo only has one car for you to choosr ,but oh well. The 350Z will have to do. This will be such a hit, even more than the first NFS Underground. But dont just take my word for it, go download the demo and give it a try!
Here's a link : http://www.eagames.com/official/nfs/underground2/us/editorial.jsp?src=downloads

The game comes out November 15! So get ready. I know I will be.

I'm just glad they included MY car -- the 2005 Mustang GT. Now I can live out my fantasy (safely). :D

Don't knock it until you drive one. I bought my 2005 Mustang GT almost two weeks ago, and they've totally redesigned it from the ground up. It's got a long, wider wheelbase, more powerful engine and it just plain rocks.

The styling is retro, but not old-fashioned. It definitely turns heads, and I think it might just be the best Mustang ever.

I think the 2005 Mustang GT looks awesome. But let's get back on topic, shall we?

I'm almost 100% sure this game is going to be awesome. We'll just have to see if it can compete with GT4 (well, when it comes out).

Even though they are both driving games, there's different approaches to driving. GT4 is quite serious (maybe too serious) about real racing while Need for Speed has a more arcade-like feel to it. I would compare it more to Burnout 3 to see how it competes as they they have similar styles of gameplay.

Also, i think Need for Speed: Underground's problem was it's lifespan. After i completed it once, i just didnt want to do it again.

Nah, got to say I prefer arcade racing. I liked GT1 but GT3 was too serious for me. The license tests pis.. annoyed me... greatly when all I wanted to do was race. After playing GT1 for so long, I couldn't be bothered starting from scratch with a crappy car again. I prefer games like underground because the races are much more exciting because of shortcuts and nitros and you can customise the look of your car. Hopefully the sequel will be more varied than its predecessor. I thought that first one got boring as many of the tracks used parts of other tracks, so it felt like you'd raced them all before.

Only thing about underground is that they isnt as much as a various system of engine upgrade . yea i mean u have the main things like turbos, intakes, exhaust, etc.
butyou dont have the gear ratios and other stuff that effect your car greatly. and that is what seperates the same car apart is the differnt settings..

It's not gear ratios that seperate the car, that just affects your top speed. Nitrous (and a bigger engine) is going to seperate your car from the rest of them.

Also, if you don't know what your doing with the engine settings, you can really mess them up. Most people i know who have had any version of GT didn't bother messing about with the settings. The only thing i've changed a lot is tyres. At least there is a graph beside it so you know what you're doing.

Yes but u can accelerate alot faster and in a quarter mile... whats gonna win a slow accel car or a fast... and i nitrou thats just a joke... people can get nitrous in a ford escort and say they are all that because they get like a 20 second 250+ horsepower boost.. and about people not know how to set the retio's , i found things on he internet about certain cars giving their ratios out for certain settings. its really not that hard to find them.

LoL, I'd actually like to see a ford escort that could even Handle a 250+ HP boost. The car would be riped apart. Heh

Anyways, NFS: Underground 2 is so awesome. They have added alot of seperate things to it. You can upgrade the sound system, door types, hood type, hydraulics, neon in the trunk/hood/undercar. Another thing that is awesome is that you have to drive around the town to find the races. And you can just race one of the other racers if you see them driving around town, apposed to the races where you all line up and look pretty, and have a certain road/roads you're supposed to take. If you're just driving around town and race someone you just go where ever you want, and try to lose them. I also like the fact there there are different types of races, like drag, circuit, drift, and sprint, it helps keep me interested instead of having to do the same thing over and over.

Not true, except in a drag race. Red Devil had a Mistubishi Twin Turbo in GT1 which, after a slow start, would leave anyone behind. A poor start definitley doesn't stop you winning if your top speed in enough. You just couldn't beat it, as its brakes, cornering and

I like the idea of the new upgrades. Sound system and door types are different. Finding other drivers around town could become annoying though if they aren't marked on the map, like in GTA. I also hope that it has a better lifespan than Underground 1. I think the main problem was that pieces of courses were repeated again and again, or reversed.

Heh, that car was great. It had about 930 BHP. While it was in first gear, it barely moved but once it hit second, it left anyone behind. True, you had to steer round tight corners by bouncing it off the wall, but thats not the point. ;)

It was unless the course was too twisty to use it top speed. I don't know what happened to it. I looked for it when i had GT3, but the Twin Turbo didn't seem to be in it. Hopefully it'll be back for GT4! :D

Luckily they are marked on the map, and most of the races are aswell. Although, some races are not, and those ones usually give you more reputation or money. You can also get sponsers and they require certain amount of races or a certain type, but you can still do whatever you want and not just what they tell you to do. Another thing is that you can get SUV's or a Hummer and they have special SUV races against other SUVs, its really alot of fun. I wouldn't worry about the length of the game, i've been playing it for a LONG time and I still am very far from the end. Its alot of fun, just driving around town, I really like how you have to go to the different shops for the upgrades, and different shops give you different discounts. One of the things that I think is much better is that you have a garage, which lets you tune the car, and it gets really specific on the tuning aspect, or you can auto tune for certain types of races. The Garage also lets you store all your cars, you can unlock and buy better cars and keep the old ones too! I have yet to play this game on anthing but the computer though, not sure if its good for the PS2, Gamecube, Xbox or GBA. :)
