Just ordered my first HDTV

This weekend is going to be FUN! I ordered a new toy... a Vizio 47" 1080p LCD HDTV (http://www.vizio.com/products/detail.aspx?pid=20). The screen is HUGE and beautiful.

I pick it up on Saturday, so I'll post some pics once I get it all setup. Can't wait to see what my Xbox 360 looks like!

Sounds good. I've never seen the Xbox 360 HD but it sounds great. The graphics on the PS3 HD were awesome and i doubt that microsoft can't do it as well.

Yes, unfortunately I just realized that I don't have a network connection in the living room (and can't really be bothered to run wires from the room where my router is.

Sooo.... this means I'll be getting some kind of wireless adapter. The official Wifi adapter for Xbox retails for a pricey $99. I found an interesting article on Lifehacker (http://lifehacker.com/software/how-to/build-a-wi+fi-adapter-for-your-xbox-360-on-the-cheap-306678.php) about building a cheap wireless bridge for about $30, but I'd rather go with a cheap AND easy solution.

I'll let you know how it works out.

EDIT: Even though Blu-Ray seems to be the trend, I bought a used HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360 on ebay for under $100. That way I can at least play HD movies until the prices on Blu-Ray players drops. It ships tomorrow!

Sounds cool. Do you have any HD-DVD movies? I wouldn't bother spending a lot of money on them if blu-ray is gonna take'em over.

Congrats, BigBlue. Be sure to check out King Kong on HD-DVD. The CGI effects are amazing on HD. That disc really shows off the quality well.

I actually am getting three HD-DVDs with the HD-DVD drive: 300, Transformers and King Kong. I'll let you know how they look when they arrive (hopefully this week!).

Now my girlfriend has already told me I need to get black faceplates for the system so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. *sigh*

Oh well, at least you can still enjoy your xbox, even if the faceplates hide it a little. I'd watch 300 first out of those films though. I saw that on IMAX at the cinema and it was incredible.

w00t! Unbelievably, it arrived yesterday (Monday)! I set it up last night and it looks awesome! The picture quality is really amazing.

I saw 300 on the IMAX as well. I haven't watched it on the HD-DVD (yet). So far, I just tested it watching parts of King Kong (which looks great). I'll get to 300, but probably not until this weekend.

Still waiting for that wireless router...

Oh, PGR and GH2 look awesome in HD.
