Mortal Kombat: Deception Hits Stores

Midway Games Inc. announced on October the 4th that Mortal Kombat®: DeceptionTM, the latest entry in the company's best-selling Mortal Kombat franchise, has shipped for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft.

I really like the look of this game, especially after Deadly Alliance was surprisingly good. After MK2, the Kombat series seemed to be pretty much the same, but then DA was different. It seems they'd spent time on the gameplay as well as the fatalities.

I noticed in a preview that as well as fighting, theirs a game quite like puzzle fighter and some kind of strategy game. That should add some variety and lifespan to the game if their done well enough. Another thing I noticed is that you can kill your oponent in one blow at certain parts of the arena. (I think Scorpion kicked someone into a meat grinder in the pic I saw) While that's kinda cool, it could also get annoying if your repeatedly beaten by the arena rather than your oponent.

Should be good, as long as they have the classic characters like Sub-Zero and Scorpion... [GET OVER HERE!]
