GetGamer Downloads

We're looking at adding a downloads section to GetGamer, but I need your feedback.

What kinds of downloads should we host?
What categories should we include?
Any other ideas?
You can test it now (http://www.getgamer.com/forum/downloads.php), and you should be able to upload files (.zip, .tar or .gz only right now). Let me know what you think.

how about Guides for game written by our supporters(us).

I was thinking that guides would not be a download, per se, but just content here at the site. What would be the advantage to making them downloadable?

Ok lets say you want to have pictures incorperated with it. and you make it a Acrobat file. And i know that alot of people are lazy like me and dont feel like goin to a website everytime they need to check a guide out. it will save printer ink which cost ALOt of money. And it will be more resourceful when your internet is disconnected and your still playing that game and need a guide.

I think it would be a good idea to make guides, tips etc. downloadable as (like sasimi said) you can look at them offline and you dont want to spend all your time on one web site if you're on dial-up. Also, the connection could be lost.

What if we had small games or mods for certain games available for download? It would be eas for people to download the latest Half-life mod etc.

How about fan-packs for games as well? I currently have one for Pocket Kingdom:Own the World (N-Gage) which contains animations, portraits etc. We could download them off other sites and make them available on GG.

Probably. Anyway, i'm just making suggestions like everyone else. How about an area for links to websites that host online games, mods etc.. I don't think that would cause a problem. People could suggest links as well.
