that news poster is really taking all the talks out of our convo.... whats the point of having a forum when the news person tells us everything we want to talk about...

I agree sasimi, we've hardly started a new topic since the bot has started and if we have, it just gets lost in the news posts. I dont think the bot is useful at the moment, as i hardly ever read the topics. Ok, some stuff is useful, but i thought being part of this forum meant reading about what GG members wanted to say, not Joystiq.

We could bring it back later when the forum is bigger (if we need to) but it's destroying this forum and no new topics are ever written.

Maybe something could be changed so that the news posts don't become forum topics.

I'm thinking along the same lines as Hurricane here. The bot isn't really a bad thing but any forum posts by members are getting lost in the news posts. Maybe it would be better if the bot updated a news page but did not add to the forum topics?

Its not that we dont like it, its very informative. The problem is that it stops any other topics from being noticed. It just gets lost in the news posts because there is so many of them.

I've shut down the news bot for now, until I can figure out a better way to control it. I agree with everything you guys are saying though. It gets overwhelming.
