I have it on PS2 and its the best football game out at the moment. The 2 versions are nearly identical, the only differences being a slight improvement of graphics and loading times on the Xbox. The Xbox version also has online play, but I have heard that the PS2 version will also be compatible with online once the PS2 network is updated... though that might just be a rumour.

football, huh. man that the first time i seen that word used ever in the terms of meaning soccer. but the game dosent look bad, have they added any things in it to make it, well less boring. cause the last soccer game ive played only had a tournament mode, and after playing that type of mode for so long the game tends to fade from uyr mind. cause if they added like death matches and juggling stuff that would be awsome.

You want to take the greatest football sim in the world and add deathmatches to it?!?!?!? How exactly do football and deathmatches mix?

For a start, it's probably called football everywhere in the world except the USA. As far as I can see, American Football is just people running at each other trying to kill them. Its basically a slow version of rugby except you can pass the ball forward.

Anyway, what game did you play with that tournament mode in it? You obviously havent played Pro Evolution's Master League. That is a real challenge, starting off with poor (and old) players, and building up a winning team to win the WEFA Master Cup, Division Cup and League all in one season. I'm in my 3rd season now, 1pt behind an overrated Real Madrid .

Also, I dont think adding a deathmatch mode is too easy in a football game. How would you do it? Arm evreyone with rocket launchers? Get everyone from Mortal Kombat to play? I dont think its gonna happen. About the 'juggling' stuff, do you mean keeping the ball in the air, because that could be a good idea. Just, how would you do it? You could try tapping a button at the right time, but it could get boring pretty quick.

well deathmatch in my meaning is like when the game is tied and they need to decide its winner. they go into sudden death where u choose like 5 people and try to score in each others goals one at a time.

Sasimi, thats called a penalty shoot out. It happens at the end of a tied game (if its a cup game or knock out round) after 30 minutes of extra time have been played. Thats been in Pro Evolution games since the PSone versions.

well in this case i want it to be called death match. for the simple case that its more a of a competition and they could add like lots of features to make it hard or somthing. but it dosent matter what its called.. u get my drift.

so u r saying that there is one with out having to play the career mode and u are able to do that? ive never seen it.

No i'm not saying theres a mode only for penalty shoot outs. That would be boring. All you do is press left or right (or up, left or right) and then shoot and 9 times out of 10 you score. The idea is that a penalty kick is an easy shot. The ref can award one in the middle of games for a bad foul in the box, to give the team an easy shot on goal.

And I doubt Konami would change its name to death match seeing as its called a penalty shoot out in real life.

What kind of features could you add to make it hard exactly? Remember this is a football sim game so the fans want it to be as realistic as possible.

There is a friendly mode where you can take penalty shoot-outs, but it only ever happens in cup matches in career and tournament modes - and that's unlikely even in those modes. Usually games aren't that close or its 1-0 or 2-1, etc..

The idea of a penalty shoot-out (or sudden death if the score is tied after 5 penalties each) is just to seperate the teams. Its hard enough I think, as pressing the shoot button slightly too long causes the player to put it wide or blast it over the bar. I think keeping penalties the way they are is better.
