What's your favorite handheld game system?
Everyone has a favorite. Personally, I like the PSP.

I nearly voted for the original Game Boy for this one. I mean c'mon, Tetris and Mario Land! What else do you need? However, last week I got my hands on a PSP for a few hours... Ridge Racer and GTA in your hand... Nothing compares to that! PSP wins! :P

I was torn into 2 pieces on this, between the PSP and Game Boy, but the Game Boy has given me hours and hours of happiness, especially on car journeys (Alleyway anyone???). I love the PSP''s graphics and gameplay and will get one myself soon, but the Game Boy is still something special, no matter how old it is.

I think that the PSP is the best. It has fantstic games such as ridge racer and darkstalkers which have fantastic graphics and gameplay. If sega's game gear was on the list I may have voted for that.

The Game Gear was pretty good. It had nice graphics for its time and a backlight but it also drained batteries like crazy. I think it was about 4 hours on 6 batteries? Compared to Game Boys 15 hours on 4 batteries, it couldn't really compete. Which is a pity. It had decent games and could play Master System games with a converter.

I think the Game Gear's problem was that it was ahead of its time, making it big, heavy and eat batteries up in 4 hours. For the time, it was better then Game Boy in its graphics and the fact that it was in colour. If it didnt devour its batteries so quickly, it could have stood a real chance and maybe sega would be another contender in the handheld console war today.
Also, anyone know what a Gizmondo is like? I'm just curious because it's been a while since I've heard anything about them - even if it's still around or not.

I'm gonna assume the Gizmondo is dead and buried. It never really stood a chance against the DS and PSP. I don't think i've ever actually seen one in a shop... :S

I remember 1 thing out of a magazine about the Gizmondo shop in London:
"It was a strange shop, because it didn't actually sell anything."
So, I want to know if the Gizmondo actually is available ot not, but I'm not actually going to get one, PSP looks too good.
Anyway, anyone (except me) think that the N-Gage was actually worth having for a while until it died??

The n-gage was good. It was a great idea by nokia but it could have been made better. There were some good games such as the impressive Splinter cell chaos theory with amazing 3d graphics and super monkey ball.

Yeah, i agree. The vertical instead of horizontal screen didn't help. Playing Sonic N was a bit of a nightmare unless you learnt the game back to front. If you played on a full screen, you couldn't see where you would end up in 2 seconds or where a boss was. If you played with huge borders (which took up at least half the screen), you could see in front of you but the graphics were poor.
The QD wasn't much of an improvement either. Nokia still had 'phone first' inside their head and didnt change the screen much. Also, the battery life was a problem, especially if you needed it later to make an important phone call.
It could have been a revloutionary handheld console, but critical mistakes were made and the battery life, lack of games and PSP condemned it to the trash can.
