Two years since the last title in the series, and the closing of the development office responsible for the franchise, EA has announced plans to release Fight Night Round 4 sometime next year for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Few details on the new release exist besides the mention of a new physics and gameplay engine (will it bare the Freestyle brand too?). The most interesting addition to the series is the inclusion of former World Champion Mike Tyson, his first videogame appearance in over a decade. Insert ear-biting joke here.

After a nearly four year hiatus, the Doom series is back. Id Software today announced that Doom 4 has officially begun production and that the company is looking for new talent to produce the sequel. Said id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead, "Doom is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth." Don't take Wii Fit's weight assessments to heart.
According to an angry poster at DISBoards, the game recently labeled a ten year old child in the UK as overweight, even though she's 4'9" and weights only six stones (84 pounds). Ouch. We're no doctors, but from what we can tell by browsing around the 'net, that's actually underweight. Assuming the poster isn't lying and that all the information was entered in correctly, we're surprised that Wii Fit would make such a mistake. We know that BMI calculations aren't always accurate in classifying someone's health, but that just seems ridiculous.
The relative of the girl said that the child was pretty devastated by Wii Fit's assessment, and her family had a hard time convincing her that she wasn't fat.

We have a rough idea of which software is coming to WiiWare, but when it's coming is a different matter. Apparently, Nintendo doesn't want to help us find out either. Game|Life's Chris Kohler recently spoke to a company representative, who revealed that there may not be a list of WiiWare launch titles until the launch itself, on May 12th. Why? We've no idea, but it's a mighty strange way of getting consumers excited, Nintendo.
